Lawton names Dunham new finance director

LAWTON — City Manager Michael Cleghorn has named Joe Don Dunham as finance director for the city of Lawton. Dunham comes to the city with 30 years of service in municipal government under his belt, according to a news release from City Hall.

Online training for jail workers OK'd

LAWTON – Acting as the Comanche County Facilities Authority, the Comanche County Board of Commissioners signed off Tuesday on a plan to provide online training for Comanche County Detention Center employees.

Lawton adds 40 structures to dilapidated buildings list

LAWTON — Lawton added 40 buildings Tuesday to the city’s list of dilapidated and dangerous structures, also known as the D and D list. After conducting public hearings for each building, the Lawton City Council voted to place all 40 on the list.

Lawton set to adopt new ward boundaries Jan. 26

LAWTON — Lawton Redistricting Commission is moving one step closer to adopting a new voting ward map. The commission hosted a public hearing Jan. 14 about the new map, which sets boundaries for Lawton’s eight voting wards.

Fort Sill to receive new laser weapons

WASHINGTON — The first set of Stryker combat vehicles equipped with 50-kilowatt laser weapons will be delivered to a unit of Army soldiers at Fort Sill by the end of September, according to the head of the service’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office.
