WASHINGTON (AP) – Presidential adviser Ivanka Trump has unveiled a White House-backed national ad campaign highlighting alternative ways to start a career. The initiative is geared toward students, mid-career workers and the millions now unemployed because of the new coronavirus.

County commissioner tests positive for COVID

TULSA — Gov. Kevin Stitt was not the only elected Oklahoma official to announce a positive COVID-19 test Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon, Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith took to social media saying that she and her husband both tested positive after a road trip to an undisclosed location.

Water line to WMWR not expected for awhile

LAWTON – Apparently it will be several more weeks, at the earliest, before construction can start on a water line to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The project has not gone out for bids yet, David Farmer, manager of the WMWR, confirmed Tuesday.

TULSA (AP) - An Oklahoma district attorney’s office dismissed two murder charges against a man whose two children died in a hot vehicle after prosecutors determined the children’s tribal history. The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office dropped charges filed Friday against Dustin Lee Dennis, 31.

State sees first child death from COVID-19

LAWTON – Southwest Oklahoma found itself the focal point in the state’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic over the weekend following a state announcement that the state suffered its first COVID-19-related death to a school-age child.

Gov. Stitt catches COVID

OKLAHOMA CITY – Republican Governor Kevin Stitt announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus. Stitt made the announcement Wednesday during a Zoom press conference. He is the first governor in the United States to test positive for the coronavirus.
