Ultra-conservative former Oklahoma U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, who helped turn Oklahoma away from its deep blue Democratic roots to one of the brightest, conservative red states in the country, has died. The 72-year-old doctor succumbed last Saturday after a long battle with prostate cancer.

LAWTON – The Covid-19 virus has spread to Comanche County. At least three county residents have been confirmed as infected with the coronavirus.  Nicole Jolly, a spokesman for Comanche County Medical Center, confirmed two of the cases were identified through CCMH’s testing protocols.

Lawton Mayor Stan Booker said Monday he will expand the city’s emergency closure orders immediately in view of the continuing spread of the coronavirus across Oklahoma. The mayor said he plans to temporarily shut down nail salons, barbershops, and similar businesses.
