Oklahoma ranks 39th in environmental survey

A report by the nonprofit organization SmileHub on the Best States for Environmental Protection in 2025 ranked Oklahoma 39th. The group also released a new report on the Best Charities for Environmental Protection.SmileHub compared the eco-friendliness of all 50 states across 25 key metrics.

From staff reports Rig numbers across the U.S. and in Oklahoma took another dip in the past week with a loss in oil rig activity and in natural gas exploration. At the same time, the rig numbers revealed a slow growth of gas drilling activity in the past year.

Comanche County jury rules woman not guilty of slandering Lawton’s city prosecutor

A Lawton woman charged under a 96-yearold statute with the criminal slander of Lawton’s city prosecutor was found not guilty Friday.Matina Michelle Davis, 52, was exonerated by an all-white Comanche County District Court jury comprised of two men and four women.

Chickasha industrial park development could generate $3.5B investment, 3,000 jobs

Gov. Kevin Stitt joined local leaders in Chickasha June 5 to unveil plans for a new industrial park and power generation initiative – projects that will constitute the largest single private investment in the city’s history.
