Coronavirus spawns FDIC conference cancellation

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has postponed this week’s planned 2020 National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference out of fear of spreading the coronavirus.  In a press release announcing the cancellation, the FDIC said the March 9-12 conference in Denver would be rescheduled later in the year. The FDIC, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Reserve made the joint decision to halt the conference “out of an abundance of caution to help safeguard the health and well-being of the more than 1,300 registered conference participants.
