OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma-based water technology company Bison has acquired Woody Creek Midstream, in the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province.

The acquisition is anchored by a 15-year gathering agreement with Casillas Petroleum Resource Partners, Bison stated in a news release. After securing Woody Creek Midstream, Bison will become the only remaining independent, large-scale water infrastructure company in the SCOOP and Merge plays. The SCOOP play is primarily located in the Anadarko Basin. The Merge play lies between the STACK (Sooner Trend, Anadarko, and Canadian and Kingfisher).

Bison also entered into a 15-year water gathering and disposal agreement with Camino Natural Resources and approved a 30-year agreement with another active private operator in the SCOOP and expanded the dedication under an existing agreement with Paloma Operating Co.

Under the agreements, Bison will manage each company’s water infrastructure within their respective portions of the combined approximately 1.5 million acre area which spans across Grady, McClain, Garvin and Canadian counties. Bison now operates more than 15 long-term dedications covering approximately 12 million acres of the Anadarko Basin.
