Chuck Wade, chairman of Great Plains Technology Center’s Foundation Board, was honored March 29 with a reception at the technology center.
Wade, who has served as chairman of the board since its incorporation in 1980, has given more than 40 years of personal commitment and investment in the lives of GPTC students, marketing and communications coordinator Teresa Abram said in a press release.
“Through his leadership, the foundation has grown to almost $2.5 million in assets and has awarded more than 6,400 scholarships valuing more than $3.5 million,” she said. “In recognition of his outstanding professionalism, courtesy and dedication, Chuck Wade has been named chair emeritus of GPTC’s foundation.”
The foundation has established the Chuck Wade Tuition Waiver Scholarship, according to the press release. The first scholarship recipient is Amber Wheeler.
