OKLAHOMA CITY — Shortly after being sworn in for his second term in public office, State Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready outlined some of his top priorities for the next four years.

He said his agenda includes:

• Helping Oklahomans get ready for natural disasters and mitigate risks.

• Visiting all 77 counties to meet with local insurance agents, fire departments and municipal leaders through a “Coffee with the Commissioner” program.

• Bringing more insurance sector jobs to this state.

• Educating and protecting vulnerable citizens from falling victim to insurance fraud.

• Continuing to raise awareness of the importance of having different types of insurance: health, auto, life, etc.

Mulready, 62, started as an insurance broker in 1984, served eight years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, and was elected insurance commissioner in 2018. He was the only statewide elected official to run unopposed during the election cycle last year.

“I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to continue to serve as Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner,” Mulready said. “Over the next four years, I pledge to work tirelessly to protect Oklahoma consumers, keep our Oklahoma market competitive and healthy, and ensure Oklahoma is disaster ready.”
