LAWTON – The first long-term tenant in the FISTA Innovation Park needs room to grow.
The software developer Camgian Corp. signed a new lease with the FISTA Development Trust Authority, which oversees the Innovation Park, during a Feb. 27 ceremony in the Innovation Park’s lobby. The company will expand from a 750-square-foot space in the Innovation Park to an 8,000-squarefoot space, which will include room for a lab that will help Camgian carry out its mission of developing artificial intelligence-powered air and missile defense technology in Lawton.
“We know that this expansion will be critical to our mission of creating safer skies through technology developed in Lawton,” Camgian founder and CEO Gary Butler said in a news release from FISTA. “Our relationship with the FISTA, Oklahoma, the city of Lawton continues to be greatly beneficial to all parties.”
FISTA President and CEO Dr. Krista Ratliff said Camgian has been a good partner for the FISTA team.
'This expansion is a testament to their commitment to creating innovation and jobs in Lawton,” she said. “We're appreciative of their mission and vision that drives the company.'
Camgian set up shop at the FISTA Innovation Park, which is located at Central Plaza, in the fall of 2021. The Starkville, Mississippi- based company has said the Lawton office will support technology development for the cross-functional teams at Fort Sill and the military base’s FIRES Center of Excellence.
