From staff reports LAWTON – A project aimed at enhancing accessibility and safety at the Comanche County Courthouse is underway.

The county began work April 15 on upgrades to the courthouse elevators, which will ensure improved functionality and reliability for all visitors and staff, according to a news release from Comanche County Commissioner Johnny Owens’ office.

The project, which is expected to last 26 weeks, will involve the sequential upgrade of both elevators within the courthouse, according to the news release. While the upgrades take place, one elevator will continue operating at all times to minimize disruptions to courthouse business.
