OKLAHOMA CITY – Led by Georgia Republican Congressman Andrew Clyde, some 30 House Republican Representatives are going after President Joe Biden’s latest regulations to put gas-powered vehicles out of business.
No Oklahoma House members were part of the effort on Friday to file the bill under the Congressional Review Act, a law dating back nearly three decades that allows Congress to revoke federal regulations. But Clyde and the others support a resolution to block Biden’s stringent emission standards on gas cars which were finalized in March by the Environmental Protection Agency.
“Despite persistent pleas to keep his hands off our car keys, President Biden is doubling down on his radical EPA rule to institute a de facto EV mandate on our country,” Clyde said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Hardworking Americans already battling inflation simply cannot afford the President’s illegitimate power grab – nor should they be forced to bear this burden.”

Under the administration’s new EPA rules, automakers will be forced to ensure 56% of cars are EV and another 13% are hybrid by 2032.
Kristen Ullman, president of Eagle Forum, a conservative interest group founded in 1972, supported the 30 Republicans.
“The Biden administration keeps telling moms that ‘Big Brother Knows Best’ — whether it be what kind of stoves we can use, the washers and dryers we can buy and now what kind of car we can drive,” Ullman said. “Sales data shows that most women are not interested in being forced into EVs that are more expensive to buy and maintain.”
Ryan Walker, Executive Vice President of Heritage Action said the EPA has “weaponized” the federal rulemaking process.
“By squeezing gas-powered cars out of the market, this administration is putting a radical green agenda ahead of American workers and the families struggling to afford basics in the Biden economy.”
