From staff reports Last week the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News released a new Monthly Oklahoma Retail Feed Cost report.
The report provides producers with current prices on the most common feeds and feed ingredients sold at retail distributors across Oklahoma in bagged and bulk (per ton) form, including organic corn and soy meal. Producers can use the report to make informed financial decisions tailored to their operational needs.
This new report, developed in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, pairs well with the Bi-Weekly Oklahoma Production Cost report, which provides current price information on common fertilizers and fuels.
The first report shows that bulk cattle cubes with 20% protein are priced at $342.71 per ton. Those same cubes in 50-pound bags have a retail price of $10.44 per bag.
Additionally, bulk 14% protein creep pellets average $304.57 a ton, and at $9.00 per 50-pound bag across the state.
