The West Health-Gallup Center on Healthcare’s new study, State of the States 2025: Insights on Healthcare in America, ranks all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on Americans’ self-reported experiences with healthcare in their communities. Respondents were asked questions about key dimensions of their healthcare experience, reflecting cost, quality and access. Oklahoma ranked 40th in the nation; 33% of the respondents reported they avoided doctor-recommended care in the past year because they couldn’t afford it. More than half of U.S. adults say long wait times for appointments prevented or delayed their ability to seek necessary healthcare in the past year.
