Jarman named director of CU-Duncan

Staff reports Kyle Jarman has been appointed director of Cameron University-Duncan, effective Jan. 1, 2026. He has served as interim director of the campus since July 1.

“Since stepping in as interim director of CU-Duncan in July, Kyle’s leadership has had a significantly positive impact on our students,” Cameron University President Shane Hunt said. “Kyle’s dedication to student success ensures that students at the Duncan campus will enjoy high-quality educational opportunities as well as enrichment experiences.”

“My goal is to ensure that our students have the support, resources and opportunities they need to succeed in the classroom and in the workplace once they graduate,” Jarman said.

Over the past few months, Jarman has established bonds with numerous community organizations and entities.

“CU-Duncan exists because of the strong partnership between the university and the Duncan community,” he said. “I look forward to building on those relationships to expand opportunities for our students and meet the area’s workforce needs.”

The director of CU-Duncan serves as the university's liaison to Duncan and surrounding communities. Jarman supervises all CU-Duncan functions, including staffing, course offerings, academic programs, and facility and property maintenance. Additionally, he oversees all aspects of a CU-Duncan student’s tenure, including admissions, academic advising, student services, financial assistance, recruiting, and student retention, with the goal of ensuring student success and degree completion.

As a representative of Cameron University at the local and state levels, Jarman continues existing relationships and develops new ones with area schools, businesses and community services organizations. He assesses local educational and employment needs to determine future growth and opportunities. In addition, he works with applicable staff members at the Lawton campus to market and promote CU-Duncan.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, with minors in art and English, from Oklahoma State University, Jarman spent two years in Yantai, Shandong, China, as a high school teacher, then joined Tulsa Community College as an academic adviser. During his tenure at TCC, he earned a Master of Science degree in environmental science from OSU-Tulsa.

Jarman joined the Cameron staff in 2015 as a r etention counselor. In 2018 he was named interim director of the Testing Center and subsequently was named director of the unit. In 2019 he was named academic services director. In that role he oversaw the operations of CU’s Academic Advising Center and the Testing Center.
