WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the release of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025-2030, which reintroduced full-fat dairy products as a part of a healthy diet, President Trump on Jan. 14 signed the Whole milk for Healthy Kids Act.
According to the USDA, implementation was to begin immediately. The USDA issued program implementation guidance to school nutrition officials and said rulemaking will soon commence to ensure schools and nutrition programs can offer whole milk as quickly as possible.
“This bipartisan solution to school meals alongside the newly released Dietary Guidelines for Americans reinforces what families already know: nutrient-dense foods like whole milk are an important part of a healthy diet,” said U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
