Cameron production explores story of Oklahoma aviator Jerrie Cobb

Theo Cognet of Horizon City, Texas, left, portrays Dr. Lovelace alongside Victoria Spruill of Duncan, who plays Jackie, in Cameron University Theatre’s production of “They Promised Her the Moon.” The play by Laurel Ollstein tells the story of Geraldyn “Jerrie” Cobb, an Oklahoma female aviator who nearly became the first American woman astronaut. The production will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1-3 and 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Cameron University Theatre. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for seniors, military members and non-CU students.
