WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator James Lankford (R-OK) cites the trade agreement with Japan as good news for Oklahoma cattlemen.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump spoke at the United Nations General Assembly, and later sat down with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan. The leaders worked out a trade deal between the two countries for the U.S. beef industry.

“The announcement on a trade agreement between the U.S. and Japan is good news for Oklahoma and our state’s agriculture community,” said Lankford. “Further opening the Japanese market for U.S. exports has been a priority of mine since joining the Senate Finance Committee, and I commend the Trump Administration for completing this agreement that will see more of Oklahoma’s beef and other major exports sold in Japan.”
