Osage County Tourism is launching its new website – VisitTheOsage.com. “We’re a big county and now you can have all the information from Pawhuska to Tulsa in one place,” said Kelly Bland, Osage County Tourism Executive Director. Osage County Tourism has collaborated with Visit Widget to create a website that is user-simple and mobile friendly and one that makes planning a vacation or weekend getaway a breeze, he said. In addition, organizations can now submit their Osage County events directly to the tourism office through a link on the website to have them posted under the “What’s Going On” tab. “With a county of this size we needed a professional and comprehensive site,” Bland stated. “We are having tourists from every state in the nation and abroad visiting Osage County due in large part to the Pioneer Woman’s venues.”
Osage County Tourism also has the Visit the Osage App available for free download that allows visitors to plan and share their itineraries, receive directional assistance, and have up-to-the-minute event information at their fingertips. Osage County includes attractions such as Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve, Lake Skiatook with Cross Timbers Marina, the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, Osage Hills State Park, Tulsa Botanic Garden, the Osage Nation Museum, and the Cha’ Tullis Art Gallery. Additionally, it is known for its rich history especially noted in David Grann’s best- seller, “Killers of the Flower Moon.” Osage County has recently been featured or received accolades from National Geographic Magazine and Southern Living Magazine. In addition, Pawhuska was recently listed by Smithsonian Magazine as one of the “15 Best Small Towns to Visit in the United States.” Also, the Pioneer Woman Mercantile’s “Patriotic Party on the Prairie” was amongst 2019 Best of the Best Events according to the American Bus Association.
