LAWTON - Former New York City Mayor and Democratic Presidential hopeful Mike Bloomberg will open a field office in Lawton in the coming days.

According to Sarah Baker, state director for Mike Bloomberg 2020, the former mayor’s team will open offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Lawton. Bloomberg’s campaign is seeking secure office space near downtown Lawton.

The campaign will soon have 24 paid staffers across Oklahoma, three of whom are already in place in Lawton, Baker said.

Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will be in Tulsa next week, stumping for Bloomberg.

Rounding out Bloomberg’s leadership team in Oklahoma are state Rep. Monroe Nichols, D-Tulsa, serving as senior adviser, and former state Rep. Cory Williams, D-Stillwater, serving as the state political director.

Bloomberg – the co-founder, CEO, and majority owner of Bloomberg L.P. – reportedly has not ruled out spending up to $1 billion on his campaign.
