Rebuilt trails, erosion control planned for Chickasha park

CHICKASHA – A $1.8 million project to build a loop around Shannon Springs Park will be financed largely with a federal grant. The City Council approved an agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for construction of a trail at Ninth Street and Ron Terry Drive.

Five performers slated for Chickasha air show

CHICKASHA – The Chickasha Municipal Airport Authority voted to approve contracts with several performers for the annual Wings & Wheels event June 3 and to improve the fuel system at the airport. The CMAA authorized expenditure of up to $50,000 to upgrade or replace the airport’s fuel pumps.

PSO to replace 5 miles of line near Chickasha

CHICKASHA — Public Service Co. of Oklahoma plans to replace approximately five miles of electric transmission line south of Chickasha early next year.

Contract awarded to demolish decrepit structures at lake

CHICKASHA — Washita Construction and Renovation recently was awarded a $46,996 contract to demolish 11 dilapidated and abandoned structures at Lake Chickasha. The experienced local company was the second-lowest of four bidders for the work.

City opens disposal site for discarded tree limbs

CHICKASHA — Just in time for spring improvement projects, the city has established a location where residents can dispose of tree limbs. The site is just south of Public Works at 502 N. Genevieve and will be open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
