NexTier is latest to lay off workers in El Reno

EL RENO – Houston based NexTier Completion Solutions Inc. has laid off more workers at its operations in El Reno. NexTier is a U.S. oilfield service company. The layoff hit 85 workers in a city already bruised by the layoff of hundreds of Halliburton workers earlier in the year.

Halliburton lays off 800 as rig count continues to drop

DUNCAN – In a recent announcement, the oil industry giant Halliburton stated that it would lay off about 800 employees in Oklahoma. This announcement sent state officials scrambling to help those affected by the job loss this week. The layoffs are the second round for the oil field service company.
