EL RENO – Houston based NexTier Completion Solutions Inc. has laid off more workers at its operations in El Reno.
NexTier is a U.S. oilfield service company.
The layoff hit 85 workers in a city already bruised by the layoff of hundreds of Halliburton workers earlier in the year.
“The precipitous worldwide decline in oil price when combined with an opportunistic supply shock initiated by foreign oil-producing countries has resulted in unprecedented adverse market conditions for American companies operating in the energy industry,” the notice stated.
The job losses are permanent.
