LEDC: Lawton Fort Sill economic forecast good through 2024

LAWTON — Lawton has weathered the economic recession of 2020-21 and may see a strong economy in 2022, an economist said Wednesday.   “The forecast is way more optimistic than it was a year ago,” said Mark Snead, president of the Oklahoma City-based economic research firm RegionTrack.

Wind energy company coming to Lawton

LAWTON – A company that makes wind turbines plans to invest $10 million initially in development of a manufacturing plant here that will employ 300 workers within five years, the Lawton-Fort Sill Economic Development Corp. (LEDC) announced Friday.
