Turnpike Authority starts new account blitz

State OKs contract to make Bailey Turnpike ‘cashless’

OKLAHOMA CITY – A $7.4 million contract to convert the H.E. Bailey Turnpike to totally “cashless” tolling by mid-2022 was approved Tuesday by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. At $7,429,764, Haskell Lemon Construction Co. of Oklahoma City was the lower of two bidders for the job.

Bailey Turnpike motorists will see new signs in 2021

ELGIN – Dilapidated, faded and barely legible highway signs along the H.E. Bailey Turnpike are scheduled to be replaced in the coming year, says Oklahoma Turnpike Authority spokesman Jack Damrill. Damrill said that there are 20 locations along the H.E.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Last fall, speed limits on Oklahoma’s turnpike system were permitted to increase from 75 to 80 miles per hour following the implementation of a new law – signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt in April 2019 – and authored by State Rep. Daniel Pae, R-Lawton.
