Nearly 20 earthquakes rattle Oklahoma in 3 days, geologists say

Recently several earthquakes have been recorded throughout Oklahoma. The Oklahoma State Geological Society reported a quake in Woodward County that measured 1.1 magnitude. Other tremors were recorded in Payne, Major, Logan and Woodward counties ranging in strength from 0.9 to 1.7 magnitude.

OKLAHOMA CITY — In an effort to allow continued government meetings while honoring new in-person limitations recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Oklahoma legislature has approved temporary amendments to the state’s Sunshine laws.

HJR 1027 would kill initiative petitions in Oklahoma

The initiative petition is under attack in Oklahoma. House Joint Resolution #1027 (HJR 1027) passed the House on Tuesday evening at 6:05 pm. The vote was 66-30 with four members not voting. All but five of the yea votes were Republican. All Democrats voted nay.

More oil and gas rigs are going into storage across the country. Baker Hughes Co. reported Oklahoma’s count dropped to 48 compared to the 115 active rigs a year ago.
