Precinct 9 polling place changes

LAWTON – The polling place for Precinct 9 has been changed for the Feb. 8 election, Comanche County Election Board Secretary Amy Sims said Tuesday. Voters in Precinct 9 used to vote at Bible Baptist Church, 7501 SW Lee Blvd. in Lawton.

Democrats again open primaries to Independents

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Democratic Party notified State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax that it will allow Independents to vote in its primaries in 2022 and 2023.             The Libertarian Party notified Ziriax that it will close its primaries to Independent voters.

Harris takes Ward 2 seat by 5 votes

LAWTON – Five votes made the difference for Lawton City Council candidate Kelly Harris. Harris captured 210 votes in Tuesday’s runoff election for the Ward 2 seat on the council, or about 50% of the total. His opponent, Mark Malone, finished with 205 votes – about 49% of the total.

Harris, Malone make final bid for Ward 2 seat

LAWTON — After making it through the primary election in September, Mark Malone and Kelly Harris will square off again Tuesday, Nov. 9.   The two men are competing for the right to represent Ward 2 on the Lawton City Council for the next three years.

LAWTON — Voters who live in the Flower Mound Public School district will decide the fate of the district’s bond issue proposal Nov. 9.   The district is asking voters to approve a 10-year, $2 million bond issue to help finance an early childhood center on the school campus.

Election Board purges inactive, duplicate voter registrations

OKLAHOMA CITY – A little more than 115,000 inactive and duplicate voter registrations were removed recently from Oklahoma’s voter rolls, State Election board Secretary Paul Ziriax announced. The biennial purge was routine and mandated by state statute, said Ziriax (pronounced ZEER-icks).
