CHICKASHA — The Chickasha Chamber of Commerce observed its centennial anniversary on Aug. 1, marking a century of fostering business growth, community development, and prosperity.

To commemorate the occasion the City Council proclaimed August 1 as “Chickasha Chamber Day.”

The Chamber, originally founded as the Chickasha Commercial Club prior to statehood, has played an instrumental role in shaping Chickasha’s landscape, contributing to its economy.

“The proclamation is a testament to the unwavering support and commitment of our valued members and community partners,” said Whitney Palesano, the Chamber’s membership director. “We are excited to celebrate this milestone. We are grateful for those who came before us and are optimistic for a bright future.”

As part of the festivities, the Chickasha Chamber hosted a 100th Birthday Party on Aug. 1. An Open House at the Chamber Office downtown included interactive exhibits showcasing the Chamber’s century-long journey, networking opportunities, giveaways and more.

The Chamber of Commerce, with 375 members representing half of the private sector employment in Grady County, is “the voice of business” in Chickasha, Palesano said.

The Chamber has become “the front door to the Chickasha community,” she said, organizing and supporting various signature events including the Oklahoma Food Truck Championship, Chickasha Christmas Parade, Neewollah Festival, Christmas In July, and Buy Chickasha, among others.

As the Chamber counted down the days to its 100th anniversary, it anticipated the release of a documentary titled “Building a Legacy,” which offers a glimpse into the Chamber’s history and the vision that continues to shape its future.
