Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt addresses the Duncan Rotary Club Wednesday at Simmons Center in Duncan.

The governor spoke about the impact of the Supreme Court's ruling in McGirt v. Oklahoma. The high court ruled that under the Indian Major Crimes Act, a large part of eastern Oklahoma remains a Native American reservation.

As a result, the state of Oklahoma could not legally prosecute a Creek citizen for criminal conduct in state court.
