Ten Soldiers become United States citizens

FORT SILL U.S. Army trainees from 10 foreign countries received the “oath of citizenship” and signed official documents, making them American citizens, during a recent Naturalization Ceremony here.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services hosted the ceremony July 6 in the 434th Field Artillery Brigade conference room.

“We give them the opportunity to celebrate this solemn event with their family and friends present to support them in person and online,” Fort Sill officials said.

More than 90 Soldiers from Fort Sill have been naturalized during the first half of this year. For example, 14 new Soldiers from a dozen countries became U.S. citizens in a naturalization ceremony before they graduated from Army basic training at Fort Sill on April 13.

The latest group of naturalized American Soldiers, immigrants who graduated from Army basic training on July 7 or July 14, included:

• Pvt. Omar Andre Mamani Alvarez, from Peru;

• Pvt. Praful Nepal, from Nepal;

• Spc. Iram Olga Samoylova, of Russia;

• Pfc. Dossou Gado Bocace Kouakpe, Republic of Benin, West Africa;

• Pvt. Lova Michael Ratovoson, Madagascar;

• Spc. Beclipps Fonjuh, Cameroon;

• Pvt. Changoon On, South Korea;

• Spc. Chisono Drysdale, Jamaica;

• Pfc. Ling Wang, China;

• Spc. Sika Jocelyne Dzidzonu, Togolese Republic, West Africa.
