Medicine Park seeks vendor for new annexation map

MEDICINE PARK – Updating Medicine Park’s annexation map could cost the town as much as $2,500. After discussing the issue April 18, the Medicine Park Board of Trustees allowed Mayor John Branch to authorize a vendor to redraw the map.

Newly elected Chickasha councilors sworn in

CHICKASHA – Five newly elected members of the Chickasha City Council were administered the oath of office April 15. The new councilors include: • Zach Grayson, an Army veteran and local business owner, was the lone candidate for mayor.

Shelter planned for 10-12 homeless boys in Lawton

LAWTON – A dormitory-style shelter for homeless youths will be developed in south Lawton. The location is 714 SW 45th St., on the east side of Southwest 45th Street south of the Stillwater Central Railroad, in the Country Club Heights subdivision.

USPS proposes fifth rate increase in two years

From staff reports The price of postage stamps could increase by a nickel in July under a new U.S. Postal Service proposal announced recently. If approved, the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp would increase from 68 cents to 73 cents.

Lawton to drill wells, build more water, sewer lines

LAWTON – The City Council acknowledged receipt of permits to construct almost 12 miles of waterlines, awarded a contract to build 6.25 miles of sanitary sewer lines, and made arrangements to drill more test holes for potential groundwater wells.
