LAWTON – Comanche County officials are considering revamping the county’s website to make it more user-friendly. The Board of Comanche County Commissioners discussed the possibility of hiring an informational technology firm to redesign the website on Oct. 9 but did not take action.

‘Pretty tough’ year for cotton

LAWTON – Litter scattered along roads in the vicinity of the municipal sanitary landfill south of town has been a persistent – and expensive – problem for years. The City Council recently directed city staff to provide them with potential options for addressing this nagging issue.

Pavement rehabilitation of a 13-mile section of the H.E. Bailey Turnpike in Comanche County will continue through spring 2024, according to Lisa Shearer-Salim, public information manager for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A raid on a large marijuana farm in Love County resulted in the seizure of thousands of marijuana plants and several hundred pounds of processed marijuana plus one arrest, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs announced. The operators of Harvesting Valley LLC.
