Council seats to appear on September ballot

LAWTON — A proposal to extend the ad valorem tax for Lawton’s road improvement program isn’t the only issue on the ballot in September. Voters in Wards 6, 7 and 8 will choose their representatives on the Lawton City Council.

Military Appreciation Day celebration slated for July 8

FORT SILL — Soldiers and their families will be recognized for their service July 8 during Military Appreciation Day at Fort Sill. The annual event will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area. A free catered lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
