Lawton Area Transit System to host public meeting October 21st

The Lawton Area Transit System will host a public meeting from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Stanley Heywood Room at the Owens Multi-Purpose Center. The meeting is to discuss improvements regarding bus routes, bus stops and accommodations which best meet the needs of our community.

City of Lawton launches customer service survey

The city of Lawton is introducing customer service surveys for the License and Permits and Utility Services departments. These two departments have frequent interactions with the public and to provide the best possible customer service, they need feedback.

City launches texting service

The city of Lawton has launched a new texting service, called TextMyGov, to help Lawtonians receive information quickly using text messaging, city officials said in a news release.

PSO sends personnel, equipment to Florida

Oklahomans have a well-deserved reputation for extending a helping hand to others in times of need, such as tornadoes, fires and earthquakes. The latest disaster is Hurricane Ian. Public Service Co.
Crews from Public Service Co. of Oklahoma and a sister company, SWEPCO, work to restore electricity in Norge, in Grady County, after a winter storm in late October 2020 brought a continuous wave of rain, sleet, snow, frigid wind and freezing rain to much of western and central Oklahoma over a three-day period.
