City announces closings for Memorial Day

City of Lawton offices and sites will be closed May 30 to observe Memorial Day. This includes the Lawton Public Library. May 30 cart collection will occur May 31, while May 31 cart collection will occur June 1. The Lawton Landfill will be open for regular scheduled hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

FISTA extends pact with consulting firm

LAWTON – The FISTA Development Trust Authority voted Tuesday to continue its agreement with the Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm Cornerstone Government Affairs, which helps the authority deal with local, state and federal governments and regulatory officials.

Panel to decide on pay hikes for Altus' elected city workers

ALTUS – A committee that will be formed by Altus Mayor Robert Garrison will decide if and how much of a pay increase the city’s three elected employees can receive. Altus is one of a handful of cities that require their police chief and street commissioner to be elected.
