City seeking aquatics staff

  Lawton’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking aquatics staff for the summer. Positions available include both lifeguards and attendants for the municipal pool, splash pads and wading pools.

Lawton Area Transit System to mark 20th anniversary

LAWTON – Lawton Area Transit System will celebrate its 20th anniversary and Try Transit Week 2022 the last week of April.   The celebration will begin April 25 with LATS’ “Moving and Grooving’’ event, city officials said in a news release.

State sells $17.6M in bonds to rehab dams

OKLAHOMA CITY – The state Capitol Improvement Authority is selling $17,665,000 in revenue bonds to help finance repairs and renovations to several high-hazard upstream flood control dams in Oklahoma.

Area lawmakers tapped for Senate panel

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two southwest Oklahoma lawmakers have been tapped as the chairman and vice chair of the Senate Retirement and Insurance Committee. Sen. John Michael Montgomery, R-Lawton, will serve as chairman and Sen. Jessica Garvin, R-Duncan, will hold the vice chair position.
