Council creates governing body for youth sports

LAWTON –Lawton has created a trust authority for the city’s youth sports programs.   Lawton City Council approved on Tuesday a trust indenture to set up the Lawton Youth Sports Authority, which will develop and oversee youth sports programs and facilities.

Panel advances bill to help fix roads damaged by oil field traffic

Hollis senior meals center nears completion

HOLLIS – The City of Hollis is using a $51,900 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to finish construction on a new senior citizens meal center. The facility will replace an old, dilapidated building that is “in need of significant repair,” the USDA announced.

Kroger to open spoke center in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Kroger Co. plans to open a spoke distribution center in Oklahoma City, which will be powered by the grocery technology firm Ocado Group, the company recently announced.

Lawton Business Women's club sets up endowed scholarship

LAWTON – The Lawton Business Women’s Club has launched its new endowed scholarship with the Lawton Community Foundation.   The club, which promotes the interests of business and professional women, announced its first contribution to the fund during a lunch meeting Feb.

Multiagency raid targets MJ operations; applications for asset forfeiture to be filed

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control on Tuesday led a massive multiagency operation that targeted criminal organizations growing and trafficking marijuana for the black market, agency spokesman Mark Woodward said.
