Russell named new chairman of Workers’ Comp Commission

OKLAHOMA CITY – Jordan Russell has been appointed chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Commission, replacing Commissioner Mark Liotta. Liotta, a Tulsan, resigned as chairman earlier this month but announced his intention to serve out the remainder of his term, which expires Aug.

LAWTON – The online community survey for the city’s Parks Master Plan has been extended through June 18.

Aged Tillman County bridge to be replaced

OKLAHOMA CITY – A contract was awarded Monday to replace a rural Tillman County bridge approximately seven and one-half miles northeast of Grandfield, and to repave a nearly four-mile section of US-62 just west of Altus.

Lawton rec, water fees going up

LAWTON — Camping at Lakes Ellsworth and Lawtonka will cost more starting in July. Lawton City Council voted 7-0 Tuesday to approve higher campground-related fees for the two parks. Councilman Keith Jackson was absent.

Rainfall totals averaged 1.45 inches across Oklahoma for the week of May 24-30, with the southeast district recording the highest total at 2.81 inches.  Drought conditions were rated 36% abnormally dry to exceptional drought, down four points from the previous week, according to the May 25 U.S.
