Theater reopens day after storm rolls into Lawton

LAWTON — Moviegoers didn’t have to wait long for the Vaska Theatre to reopen after the June 15 storm left numerous businesses and homes without power.

LAWTON – West Gore Boulevard will be reduced to two-way traffic utilizing both the eastbound lanes from NW 40th Street to NW 44th Street until 5 p.m. Feb. 15, according to the city of Lawton’s website.

City employee receives CGFM designation

LAWTON – Susan Schlecht, an employee of the city of Lawton, has earned the Certified Government Financial Manager designation. The CGFM certification is overseen by the Association of Government Accountants, according to a news release from City Hall.

City of Lawton announces Dec. closings

LAWTON — City of Lawton offices will be closed Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. Offices will reopen for regular business hours Monday, Dec. 27.   City offices will also be closed New Year's Eve, Dec. 31. Offices will reopen Jan. 3.   Residential cart collection will operate as scheduled.

Lawton suing problematic property owner

LAWTON — Lawton is taking the owner of the Aloha Trailer Park to court in hopes of compelling her to correct problems at the trailer park.
