LAWTON – Communication opens the door and offers a “powerful platform” to mutual understanding among small and large groups of people, cities and other government entities, Suzette Chang told a group of Lawton Chamber of Commerce members recently.

Lawton may enlist recruiter for city manager search

LAWTON — As they look for a new city manager, Lawton officials may hire a recruiting firm to help with the search. The Lawton City Council voted March 14 to issue a request for proposals from companies with expertise in helping cities find their top executives.

Lawton’s Street Division ‘doing what we can with what we have’

LAWTON — “We are doing what we can with what we have,” Lawton’s streets and traffic control superintendent told the City Council. “We have limited resources,” Cliff Haggenmiller said during a briefing and discussion March 7 about potholes.

Lawton club contributes $23K to scholarship fund

LAWTON — The Lawton Business Women’s Club recently contributed $23,000 to the club’s endowed scholarship fund with the Lawton Community Foundation.
