Comanche County voters reject recreational marijuana by large margin

OKLAHOMA CITY – Nearly every municipality in Comanche County decided to reject the recreational marijuana proposition submitted to voters on March 7.

Lawton’s Street Division ‘doing what we can with what we have’

LAWTON — “We are doing what we can with what we have,” Lawton’s streets and traffic control superintendent told the City Council. “We have limited resources,” Cliff Haggenmiller said during a briefing and discussion March 7 about potholes.

Lawton to extend business hours at City Hall

Lawton City Hall will be open an hour later each day during the week. starting later this month. The building will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday as of March 20, city officials said in a press release. The change will remain in effect on a trial basis for 180 days.

Lawton club contributes $23K to scholarship fund

LAWTON — The Lawton Business Women’s Club recently contributed $23,000 to the club’s endowed scholarship fund with the Lawton Community Foundation.
