Lawton suing problematic property owner

LAWTON — Lawton is taking the owner of the Aloha Trailer Park to court in hopes of compelling her to correct problems at the trailer park.

LEDC: Lawton Fort Sill economic forecast good through 2024

LAWTON — Lawton has weathered the economic recession of 2020-21 and may see a strong economy in 2022, an economist said Wednesday.   “The forecast is way more optimistic than it was a year ago,” said Mark Snead, president of the Oklahoma City-based economic research firm RegionTrack.

LAWTON — This year marks the 65th year Lawton AMBUCS has hosted its annual Pancake Day to raise funds for community members with mobility issues and disabilities.  AMBUCS, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that began in 1922, has grown to include more than 3,500 members across 30 states.

LAWTON – Lower interest rates are prompting Lawton to refinance economic development bond debt from 2019. In a special session, the Lawton City Council voted 7-0 Tuesday to approve the refinancing proposal. Councilman Jay Burk was absent.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Most Oklahoma unemployment figures show the state’s jobless rate is improving week to week, according to numbers released by the Oklahoma Employment Securities Commission.
