County COVID cases falling

LAWTON – Latest figures from Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Lawton Public Schools indicate the number of COVID-19 cases is dropping. The hospital had 18 COVID-19 patients as of October 19 with 14 of those being unvaccinated.

City to require drivers to secure their loads

LAWTON – Lawton’s new ordinance requiring drivers to secure their loads will go into effect Monday. Ordinance 22-4-1-408 mandates that drivers secure and cover all loads to prevent them from blowing away, falling into the road, leaking or escaping from the vehicle.

Lawton to end mask requirement Monday

LAWTON – Starting Monday, the city of Lawton will not require people to wear masks in city-managed buildings. A recent decline in the number of active COVID-19 cases, as reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, prompted officials to end the mask requirement as of 8 a.m.
