Lawton AMBUCS to host 65th Pancake Day

LAWTON — This year marks the 65th year Lawton AMBUCS has hosted its annual Pancake Day to raise funds for community members with mobility issues and disabilities.  AMBUCS, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that began in 1922, has grown to include more than 3,500 members across 30 states.

Frederick cancels Oyster Fry, Craft Show

FREDERICK – No fresh oysters from the Gulf Coast will be served here this year – either fried or raw – thanks to the cancellation of the 2021 edition of the nearly 70-year-old Frederick Fantastic Oyster Fry. The event was cancelled in response to lingering effects of COVID-19.

Trivia Knight Fun(d)-raiser tests contestants’ knowledge

LAWTON - Challenging teams with fun factoids, Lawton’s St. Mary’s Catholic School held its second annual Trivia Knight fun(d)-raiser at the Lawton-Fort Sill Hilton Garden Inn’s Ballroom Friday evening, Jan. 17.
Teen Court board members and volunteers worked together to raise money for the program. In just a few hours, the team was able to raise more than $500 and give information about the program.
