OKLAHOMA CITY – Gross receipts to the state Treasury slipped by 4.6% in August, with oil and gas production taxes the primary driver, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel announced. August receipts from all sources totaled $979.5 million and were below collections from August 2019 by $47.3 million.

Halliburton lays off 800 as rig count continues to drop

DUNCAN – In a recent announcement, the oil industry giant Halliburton stated that it would lay off about 800 employees in Oklahoma. This announcement sent state officials scrambling to help those affected by the job loss this week. The layoffs are the second round for the oil field service company.
