LAWTON — The city of Lawton’s stormwater division will host a rain harvesting event, where residents can learn to build their own cisterns for outdoor use, later this month.   The drive-through event, which is open only to Lawton residents, will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct.

LAWTON — Lawton’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its Halloween Spooktacular event from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at Owens Recreation Center, 1405 SW 11th St. The event is free and open to the public.

LAWTON — United Way of Southwest Oklahoma is changing its fundraising plans this year. The organization is hosting an online auction instead of its annual Blue Tie Gala. The auction opened Wednesday, Oct. 6, and will close at midnight Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Rainfall totals in Oklahoma averaged 0.07 of an inch for the week of Sept. 20-26, with the northeast district recording the highest total at 0.44 of an inch, according to the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
